Weaver is a globally trained, Mandarin-Chinese speaking, wireless market and Smart Phone/mobile device specialist with over 2 decades of professional experience working for technology companies on both sides of the Pacific Rim, focused on selling Telecom and wireless communications products to Greater Chinese, Asian markets. Karl has contributed his expertise to present on Smart Phones, Converged mobile devices, Tablet/Netbook PCs, Mobile WiMax, and the Subtle Art of Doing Business with Greater China at over 200 global conferences/events in Europe, Asia and North America during the past decade. He was also the first global public speaker to evangelize and build a road show to promote Smart Phone usage within Greater China???s mobile handset manufacturing supply chain, beginning on Microsoft???s Redmond campus in 2002 to evangelize ???The Global Smart Phone Revolution - China-Mobile Digital Dragon???. He has a B.S Degree in Business Management from Salve Regina University, Certification in Mandarin Chinese Language from National Taiwan Normal University, Mandarin Training Center (scholarship from 1982~1985) and Certification in Wireless Communications from the University of Washington (Seattle). Karl has been stationed in Beijing, China since 2008, working for Gemalto as OEM/ODM Handset Business Development Manager to evangelize SIM embedded technologies for mobile handsets, including ???Contactless??? Mobile NFC and other technologies, pitched to Greater Chinese Handset Manufacturers. In Late 2009, Karl was designated Greater China Regional Sales Manager for Trusted Logic (100% Gemalto owned) to pitch Mobile security based on ARM Trustzone for Mobile Apps processors, Mobile NFC software protocol stacks (Android, Win Mob/Winphone, Symbian, Linux) and a DRM +security solution for streaming of premium video content.
Dickson Chu is Managing Director, Digital Networks in the newly created Citi business unit, Global Enterprise Payments (GEP). GEP leverages Citi???s unparalleled global capabilities across retail banking and institutional clients in more than 140 countries around the world. The new unit will take advantage of our best Global Transaction Services (GTS) offerings and platforms as well as our Citi Cards and Consumer Banking products and services to facilitate comprehensive business-to-consumer and consumer-to-business digital payment solutions for the world???s largest global corporations and financial institutions, as well as local governments. In this role, he has global responsibility for leading the development of new digital payments capabilities for mobile network operators and Internet companies delivering e-Commerce, m-Commerce and P2P payment services; as well as cable/broadband companies that want to deliver ???t-Commerce???. Prior to joining Citi in April, 2010, Dickson was Vice President of Global Product and Experience for PayPal Inc. In this role, he led product strategy, development and user experience design for the millions of PayPal consumers and merchant customers around the world. He was part of the initial leadership team that created the merchant services business and served as General Manager for PayPal Global Merchant Services from 2006-2008.
